Shangri-La Releases New Video Showcasing Tropical Paradise Surrounding Boracay Resort

Boracay in the Philippines was voted #2 best island destination in the world by Travel + Leisure readers in 2013. Sitting among lush green foliage is Shangri-La's Boracay Resort & Spa, a 219-room property that offers panoramic views of the Sibuyan Sea and luxury accommodations surrounded by natural beauty, of which you can see plenty in the newly released video above. We don't know about you, but floating like the girl around the 50 second mark is looking pretty great right about now.

Utilizing local touches like woven Abaca weave rugs and capiz seashells around the resort, the hotel and its guestrooms are thoughtfully designed with the brand’s signature elegance and style. Choose from standard rooms to suites or villas. The Tree House Villa is a two-level residence is perched on a hillside with the lower floor serving as a bedroom with floor-to-ceiling windows. Upstairs is the living area and balcony with private Jacuzzi.

When in need of a little pampering, guests can book a treatment at CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La. Housed in a 61,505-square-foot detached complex, the spa is designed to be a sanctuary within the resort. CHI focuses on traditional Chinese philosophies as well as modern-day techniques to enhance client’s well-being and natural renewal.

There are four restaurants, including Rima, a romantic Italian dining experiences set amongst the tree-tops overlooking the resort. Open for dinner only, the kitchen is helmed by Chef de Cuisine Marco Ghezzi. At Sierna, the resort's signature seafood restaurant, guests can try culinary creations fresh from the market such as a seafood platter with a combination of grilled lobster, prawns, squid soft shell crab and fresh fish.

Daily, the resort offers a few different active activities such as cardio classes paddle boarding kayaking and yoga. Otherwise, guests can explore the island and take advantage of its various hiking trails and or crisp blue waters. Rates at Shangri-La's Boracay Resort & Spa start at approximately USD $446 per night on weekdays.
