Couples looking for a Valentine’s weekend getaway will discover the Tenaya Lodge offers all the amenities to unwind and enjoy some quality time together.

Tenaya Lodge is 48 miles from Fresno, 4.5 hours from the greater Los Angeles area and about 3.5 hours from the San Francisco Bay Area. Situated on 75 acres bordering the Sierra National Forest at an elevation of 5,288 feet.

The resort is in Yosemite Mariposa County and about a 45 minute drive to the majestic Half Dome tunnel view spot in Yosemite National Park.

Driving up to the resort in a Tesla or other electric vehicle, guests can valet or park at one of the eight Tesla Superchager stations.

Superchargers deliver a full charge in less that one hour, and a half charge in as little as 20 minutes.

Tenaya Lodge offers over 300 renovated guest rooms and suites in the main lodge, plus cottages and new Explorer Cabins. Spacious spa rooms are ideal for couples, offering 550 square feet of comfortable living space. There is a wet bar with refrigerator, large sofa seating area and a fireplace next to a sleeping area with a comfortable king size bed. 

The luxury bathroom offers a large vanity, over-sized soaking tub, and a separate rain shower. Sliding doors lead out to a patio or balcony with seating to enjoy a glass of wine or cup of coffee while at your room.

Embers Restaurant is the most romantic fine dining experience at Tenaya Lodge. Couples can sit next to a roaring double-sided fireplace in one of the elegant high-back comfortable chairs for an intimate candlelit dinner service. The Executive chef driven menu offers creative cocktails, steaks and fish entrees, pasta and vegetarian dishes using local and organic sources.

Jackalope’s Bar & Grill is more casual dining for Sierra pub fare with a full bar. Jackalope’s menu features made-to-order grilled burgers, sandwiches, specialty salads and heart-healthy, gluten-free and vegan options.

Jackalopes serves up a variety of mountain-inspired drinks and cocktails, including the Tenaya Red IPA, a craft beer brewed exclusively for the resort by nearby South Gate Brewing Company.

The LEED Silver Certified Ascent Spa is a 10,000 square feet facility inspiring a healthy and tranquil spot for couples. Besides a separate ladies and gentlemen relaxation lounge, there is a comfortable couples resting room. Of the 12 private treatment rooms, two rooms offer twin massage tables for couples to enjoy treatments together.

A full range of treatments include massage, body wraps, facials and nail care. The Cedar Couples Spa Package encourages couples to reconnect with one 60-minute amethyst relaxation massage. Afterwards female guests will receive a 60-minute wildflower cleansing facial, while male guests will receive a 60-minute Dogwood Gentlemen's cleansing facial.

Complimentary yoga classes are offered on Friday - Tuesday mornings. Guests can participate in a 60 minute yoga class inside Ascent Spa during the winter, before their morning spa experience. 

The Ascent Spa also has a fitness center with treadmills, elliptical trainers and recumbent bikes for a cardio workout. For those seeking strength training, there are dumbbells, kettlebells, adjustable benches, leg curl and extension, multi-press and cable machines. After working out, guests can soothe their muscles in the Ascent Spa saunas and steam rooms.

Activities for couples include ice skating on an covered rink during the day and evening. After a few laps, relax at a roaring firepit that crackles nearby.  

Tenaya Lodge has nature guides that lead flashlight hikes in the evenings through the beautiful snowy Sierra National Forest. During the winter the stars shine extra bright when the sky is clear. Guides enlighten guests about the constellations and The Milky Way on a 1.5-mile round-trip snowshoe hike. 

Inside the Tenaya Lodge is a game lounge, indoor pool with hot whirlpool, spacious lobby area with a roaring fireplace, and a Harvest & Grounds Deli offering coffee drinks, grab on the go sandwiches and salads, s’mores kits, and other items perfect for creating a romantic picnic.
