Tech Companies Have it Easier in Nashville

There's a huge upside to having a tech business in a city like Nashville that's not known for its tech industries: The ability to start such a company is tremendously easier than in more tech-savvy cities, considering the level of competition is much lower.

For our cover story in the April 26 print edition of the Nashville Business Journal, we spoke with a number of techies in Nashville and in tech hubs across the country, in addition to recruiters and site selectors.

"In Austin we would have been one of 500 startups with a really interesting story and a really good team. We would have been in a co-working space and occasionally good things would have happened. In Nashville, we can be one in 50 to 100 of us. We can get meetings we probably couldn’t have gotten. We can get our name out a little better.
