Last week, NPR broadcast a story entitled ‘You Are Invited’: Isolated Iran Seeks Foreign Tourists, which juxtaposed the revolution’s slogan, “Death to America,” with its current international tourism campaign inviting foreigners (even Westerners) to its land. Over the past couple of years, this urgency to attract tourists to Iran has been sprinkling through the news. But in the past few months, it seems to have picked up speed. The Forbes Travel Guide 2015 list of Star Award Winners has brought Chuan Spa at The Langham, Chicago by giving it their prestigious star ranking. As the only Forbes addition this year (aside from the Windy City’s Arista Spa & Salon in Hotel Arista getting a four-star rating), Chuan Spa is definitely going to get an influx in reservations.

If you’re thinking about a vacation to Colombia this year, consider waiting a few months until the two new Four Seasons are open in Bogota. Closed in 2014, both Hotel Casa Medina and Hotel Charleston Bogota were procured by the luxury hotelier to be rebranded and renovated within the year. This is also a big step for the brand as they currently operate 95 hotels and residences in 39 countries, but only two of those are located in South America.
