Every January, new world records are set in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area during the many major collector car auctions that take place. In Scottsdale in 2013 a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spider sold for a record-breaking $8.25 million at Gooding & Co.’s sale. Likewise, RM Auctions set another milestone with the sale of a 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione for $8.14 million on the same day.

Porsche Unveils Two New Sports Cars at Auto Guangzhou 2013 Show

Porsche unveiled two new sports cars. the 918 Spyder and the 911 Turbo S, at the recent Auto Guangzhou show in China, where the theme was "Lead the Trend, Steer the Future.” Since China is the second-largest Porsche market worldwide, with 30,406 cars sold there in the first 10 months of 2013 alone, holding the revealing there seems like a logical decision.

Bahamas Speed Week Returns to Nassau with Expanded Schedule

The third annual Bahamas Speed Week Revival (December 4-8) returns to Nassau and will feature an expanded schedule this year. There will be an All-Comers race for classic vehicles, an Austin Healy race, and a Formula Junior race. These events are the first races to be held on the island in nearly 50 years. Five-time Le Mans winner Derek Bell will be the featured headliner of this year’s Speed Week. Bell, who participated in both previous revivals, will be driving an Audi R8 Spyder.

Tanom Motors to Debut the Invader Model R High-Performance Trike in 2014

Tanom Motors will introduce its newest three-wheeler trike, the Invader Model R, in 2014. The addition adds to the company’s cache of high-performance reverse trikes, joining the Invader TC-3 coupe and the TR-3 Roadster.
