Jan 10, 2013 | Contributor: Nicolle KeoghThe search Vittorio Missoni continues nearly a week after the tiny plane carrying the luxury fashion executive and four other people went missing off the coast of Venezuela; however, the company said Wednesday that the label's menswear show that is slated to take place Sunday in Milan will still go on. It has not yet been confirmed, but it is understood by the fashion community that family members will not be in attendance of Sunday's show, as 385 search-and-rescue specialists, including the Venezuelan authorities as well as naval and flight experts from Italy, continue searching for Missoni, his wife, their two guests and the pilot who were in the plane.... Dec 28, 2012 | Contributor: Nicolle KeoghThere is one luxury fashion trend that has been around for hundreds of years and seems to never go out of style. But this season, we saw lace make a comeback in both evening wear and ready-to-wear, as both an accent and a main attraction. And if there’s one thing we can say after watching the Spring 2013 shows, it's that lace is here to stay.... Read More |
Dec 4, 2012 | Contributor: Tina StewartFor celebrities, wearing fur can be an extreme sport with invective-shouting protestors and even the occasional flour bombing (Kim Kardashian). Some unabashedly prefer animal skin, like the Olsens with their $17,000 fur-covered bag designed for their line The Row. No matter what the media sensation of the day, fur is and will remain a luxury fashion item for the affluent during the winter months. For these clients, furrier Adrienne Landau’s ready-to-wear line is creative and easy to wear (aside from the occasional red carpet run-ins).... Read More |

Oct 25, 2012 | Contributor: Nicolle KeoghOne reason why we look forward to luxury fashion shows is that while we get to “ooh” and “ahh” at our favorite established designers, we’re also given the opportunity of being surprised by a few newcomers. This season, one such designer is Maria Korovilas, who graced us with her first collection last week at L.A. Fashion Week.... Read More |
Oct 18, 2012 | Contributor: Nicolle KeoghThere’s an infatuation with super models that extends far beyond the luxury fashion world and consumes people from all walks of life with different interests. Much like society’s obsession with celebrities and their doings, we’re just as interested— if not more— with supermodels, possibly due to the lack of inside information we have on them.... A six-months-pregnant Raffaella Fico strutted her stuff for sexy swimwear label Pin-Up Stars on Saturday, garnering applause from some, but scolding from others.
