Snowboard the Sahara

Adventure Tours: Like any true thrill seeker, you are always looking for new and exciting adventures. The Sahara provides the perfect backdrop for your next expedition. Explore the vast dunes on camelback as you discover the unknown and sleep under the stars in real Nomad tents. Rent a board or bring your own. Either way, be prepared to find the steepest dune and have the ride of your life. If you're still looking for more, rent a couple of motorbikes, some quads, and continue making your mark on the Moroccan sands.

Days 1-2
After arriving in Morocco, unwind at the Haven La Chance Desert Hotel. Begin your travels along the Kasbah route, passing through the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Continue towards the Sahara Desert, passing through Berber villages and stopping for a quick lunch on the balcony at La Kasbah Restaurant.

Days 3-6
Your camel will be waiting for you in the black desert near the fossil beds in the Moroccan mountains. Make your way towards the Merzouga sand dunes, share a meal with the nomads you encounter along the way, and spend the night in the small village of Tisserdimine. Travel south, passing flocks of flamingos perched on a nearby lake and explore the crystal-filled mines as they glisten in the sun.

Days 7-8
Say "goodbye" to your camel and "hello" to your sandboard. It's now time to ride the golden sands of the Sahara. After a day of extreme sandboarding, head back to the village of Merzouga and enjoy a traditional meal with the locals. Head on over to the Berber cooperative, filled with Berber women and woven rugs. Begin your travels back to Marrakech, where you will be staying at the elegantly understated Dar Kamar Hotel in Ouarzazate. Because Morocco is a Muslim nation, alcohol is generally not allowed. So either catch a late-night Berber dance where you can dance, sing, and drink mint tea or head to the popular nightclub Paradise at the Hotel Pullman Mansour Eddahbi.
