Luxury Vacations: Sir Richard Branson's Necker
Island is located in the British Virgin Islands of the
Caribbean. This sinfully delightful luxury-latent
"Pleasure Island" lavishly serves up relaxation,
rejuvenation, and recreation aplenty. At the
conclusion of breakfast, the most taxing question of
the day for guests is posed by one of the 50 gracious
staff members as follows: "What would you like to do
today?"
Shopping or island hopping via a helicopter is an
option. Chartering a yacht and doing some deep-sea
fishing is another possibility to mull over.
Water-sports offered include snorkeling, scuba diving,
windsurfing and sailing. A round of tennis on the
courts, a workout at the gym or a trip to the spa is
doable. Swimming and lounging are available at two
pools and designated beach areas for those impromptu
quick dips or extra-long lounging sessions. The pool
complex in the Beach Pavilion has an infinity pool, a
water-exercise machine, a swim-up bar, and a floating
sushi bar. There are plenty of reading materials, DVDs
and CDs for those seeking to artfully augment doing
nothing with flair. And the Crocodile Pavilion
features a gourmet kitchen.
Necker Island is generally entirely rented out by an
individual or a group. However, during celebratory
stays, such as weddings, individual rooms or suites
are available to couples or individuals. The Main
House, which includes a master suite and several
one-bedroom Balinese houses, can accommodate up to 28
guests. Additional lodging is available at the
three-tiered Bali Hi and Bali Lo houses along with the
smaller, but still decadently luxurious, Bali Beach
and Bali Cliff houses.
Whether it is an adventure, a vacation, an escape, or
a getaway. A visit to Necker Island is a heavenly
experience sure to provide lifelong pleasant memories.
