Downtown DallasPastries, Greek food and chocolates are just some of the food festivals happening around Dallas this week, giving foodies a fun and tasty variety of things to do. Don’t forget about the wine gatherings either, where sophisticated tastes meet disinhibiting beverages.

DECIPHERING GREEK: Of course, you can fill up on Greek favorites (dolmas, spanakopita, triopita, souvlaki and more) at the Greek Food Festival. You can also watch and learn how to re-create some of those delicacies at home. Cooking demonstrations include koulouria (butter pastry), pastitiso, stuffed peppers and tomatoes, and Greek vegetables. Festival hours 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday; go online for demonstration schedule; $6 admission. Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 13555 Hillcrest Road, Dallas; 972-991-1166 or greekfestivalofdallas.com.
