WE arrived in to a drizzly Sydney after a whirlwind 48 hours in hot, sticky Singapore.

Although the relief from the heat was pleasant and it was winter in Australia this was not what I signed up for – there was plenty of rain and cloud back home in the UK.

Jetlagged and hungry we found our way into the city via train and headed for our first hotel, The Four Seasons on George Street.

Having not slept on the overnight eight-hour flight from Singapore I was flagging and desperate for a shower and lie down as we headed to our harbour view room on the 22nd floor.
