To celebrate the season of giving, a number of designers joined together to create a series of themed Christmas trees to auction off for charity. The trees were presented over the weekend at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris for the 20th edition of the Sapins de Noël des Créateurs. The annual event is held by the fashion and beauty set every year in an attempt to raise money for cancer research. Last year they raised over $75,000.
This season 33 designers participated including Chanel, Emanuel Ungaro, Jean Paul Gaultier, Dior, Chantal Thomass, Swarovski, Stella McCartney, Nina Ricci and perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. While some are more obvious takes on the Christmas tree like Gaultier’s, others are abstract renditions like the corset tree by Thomass. “I added a corset and a crinoline, because I cannot help it,” the designer told WWD.
The trees, auctioned last weekend in Paris, will be on display for the public from November 24 to 26.
