Now that it’s cold outside and winter is on its way it means only one thing for beauty lovers—frizzy hair. Big, puffy, how-can-it-be-this-bad-I-just-styled-it hair. And it’s the big conundrum we can never really seem to fix no matter how many serums, leave-in conditioners, oils or thermal devices we use on our unruly head. But at least there are some products we can use to combat it. The beauty gurus over at NuMe (they know what they’re doing, they are the same pros who won the International Fashion Film Festival) have an entire system designed around leaving your strands in the best possible condition this season. With a line of hair care and hot tools they’ve pretty much got you covered for all your frizzy-headed needs.

The brand’s luxury hair care line, the White Truffle Collection, has a hydrating base that is designed to give you moisturized, soft, touchable hair that doesn’t puff up when your man runs his fingers through it. Using black orchid, jasmine and evening primrose as the key ingredients, the collection gives you healthy, strong tresses that can help fight the cold weather that can make hair dry, frizzy and brittle. Aside from a shampoo and conditioner set, the collection also offers a hair primer with argan oil, vitamin E, and fruit and berry extracts for better elasticity, hair growth, split end repair, heat protection and scalp health. The hair mask includes goji, açaí and noni fruit extract for hair strength, a better immune system and improved circulation, while vitamin E and omegas six and nine counter everyday hair stress. Silk amino acids are the key to stronger and silkier hair in the leave-in conditioner and added keratin treats hair that has been damaged by chemicals and heat styling—which is basically everyone’s hair.

Their selection of tools is where they really stand out with an entire arsenal of curling wands, flat irons, dryers and interchangeable combo sets that can go from straightening plates to pearl wands in a snap. Their signature dryer is built with infrared heat technology to deliver salon quality hair (read: smooth not crispy) in 40 percent less time than it takes most dryers. Which means you could save time and energy by giving yourself the Gisele look at home instead of running out to your local blow bar. Tourmaline-infused ceramic plates cover the majority of their curling and flat irons to give you smooth, sleek hair that will protect your hair and stand up longer to frizzy winter hair—and really isn’t that all we want?

I gave the White Truffle Collection and Titan 3 a try to see how they stood up to my favorite cold-weather beauty products. As a woman with naturally long, curly and just plain big hair, the winter can be particularly brutal making my strands brittle, dry and frizzier than even the summer humidity. The shampoo and conditioner set have a subtle unisex smell, that’s great for both men and women, and even the styling products are light in fragrance. While a simple wash and style can leave my hair less hydrated than I would like, that is where the styling products come in. Light and smooth without being sticky, greasy or too heavy, the conditioners and serums are the real winners in this collection. Even my brittle strands have been holding up better to the weather and are noticeably less damaged than before.

The Titan 3, I will admit, has a bit of a learning curve. As someone who does not use wands (why would I hold a hot iron when I can have the iron do it for me?) it took me a few tries to get used to wielding the device, but once I did—hello gorgeous. With three different barrels that literally snap into place, this wand feels like I’m holding air instead of a heavy duty curler and allows me to do all of my hair (of which there is a lot) without my arms getting tired. It feels like a feather. But the real test was seeing how long my curls could hold up—which was surprisingly quite a while. Admittedly I wasn’t in the dead of winter or a blizzardy windstorm when I went outside, but my curls that usually frizz out in about hour (if I’m lucky), actually stayed smooth for the rest of the day. The whole day. Which is basically a win in my book.

NuMe products are available online at NuMe and are priced from $130-$280.
