Summer grilling season is officially upon us. If you are like us and love barbecuing as much as we do, we would like to introduce to you the Broil King Keg 5000. With this unique kamado-style design (which is a traditional Japanese wood or charcoal stove), the Keg 5000 charcoal cooker features 480 square inches of cooking surface, including a 280 square inch cast iron cooking grate, a 200 square inch chrome secondary surface (allowing more room for food), and two removable exterior side shelves with tool hooks for easy access.

What makes this Broil King smoker so unique is its ability to be transported quickly and easily. Simply slide it off the base and onto the trailer hitch adaptor (sold separately) so you can connect it to your automobile. The superior design also features a Deluxe Accu-Temp thermometer, which allows you to see the precise temperature within the grill.

Unlike most “kamado-style” ceramic designs, the Broil King Keg is made of double walled steel (with high-tech insulation in between) so you don’t have to worry about it cracking. Designed to keep the heat in, you can control the temperature by adjusting the air flow of the roto-draft dampers (top and bottom) and thanks to its removable ash tray, cleanup is super easy.

The Broil King Keg ($999) may be used as both a smoker (with lump charcoal) and a grill. We have grilled everything from a whole turkey to homemade pizza, and have smoked ribs and pulled pork. The Keg is extremely fuel efficient for slow cooking over low temperatures and if you like your steaks seared to perfection, the grill can reach temperatures over 600 degrees.
