If you're looking for a great view in New York City, you may want to take a look at the penthouse at the top of the 50-story Baccarat Hotel & Residences. Located in midtown Manhattan, the $60 million duplex boasts five bedrooms, five and a half baths, and some pretty serious 14-foot floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over Central Park and the Empire State Building.
The 7,381-square-foot penthouse was decorated by interior designer Tony Ingrao, who wanted to create an ambience that is not only sophisticated, but also incredibly inviting and livable. Playing off the amount of natural light, Ingrao brought in warm exotic woods, white onyx, frosted mirror glass and chrome finishes. Fittingly, there are also accents of Baccarat crystal placed throughout the luxury home, like a light fixture in the foyer and the custom crystal inlay handle found in the Zircote wood-paneled entry door.
The lower floor is where you will find the oversized living room with super high ceilings, the kitchen, powder room, and the "double-height" loggia that spans the length of the building's east side (which entails 93 linear feet of those floor-to-ceiling windows we mentioned). The room features a floating gas fireplace and a wet bar, as well as solid white oak wood flooring that has been treated with an ebony mahogany stain and semi-gloss finish.
The kitchen has white Iceberg granite counters and "boasts state-of-the-art Miele, Sub-Zero and LG appliances, including a 36-inch gas cooktop with vented hood, 30-inch double wall oven, wine refrigerator, 36-inch refrigerator, 30-inch freezer and three dishwashers."
The 1,150-square-foot master suite is found on the upper floor, situated in a private wing with its own sitting room and dual dressing rooms. The bathroom has a Victoria & Albert floating bathtub, which takes advantage of the city views. The four additional bedrooms are also on the upper floor, each with its own bathroom.
The entire penthouse is outfitted with touch screens that give you control of the lighting, shades, climate, audio and visual tech (which can also be accessed through your tablet and mobile device). The screens also connect you with the hotel's services, like the 24-hour concierge. To inquire about the penthouse, contact Baccarat Hotel & Residences directly.
