Whether you have seen the James Bond films or not (and we hope you have), you surely know of them, particularly their subtle (and sometimes not so subtle) sexual one-liners and the famous men who have played the 007 role. Needless to say, we couldn't help but be a bit “shaken” when we heard the news that noted Hollywood auction house Profiles in History, run by Joe Maddalena, had accumulated the most comprehensive collection of movie posters, stills, lobby cards, scripts and other ephemera from all of our favorite Bond flicks. The auction will come in line with the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise, and will take place Dec. 15 and 16 in Los Angeles, with a movie poster collection that is estimated to bring in more than $200,000 alone. james bond posters
For any die hard Bond fans, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to finally get hold of rare James Bond merchandise that may never hit the market again. The lucky person to purchase the collection will essentially be sidestepping the tedious task of searching for all of these posters separately, as the original owner acquired these collectibles gradually over the span of his life. 007 posters
One of the highlights of this auction involves a “Dr.No” special advance silkscreen U.K. Double-Crown Poster from 1962 – arguably the first James Bond film poster to appear to the public, and is expected to sell for $3,000-$5,000. This “holy grail” for those in the business of film poster collecting is in remarkably good condition, and has only received minimal routine retouching.

Another incredible collectable that will be available is a special advance Leicester Square world-premiere quad poster of one the most memorable Bond flicks, “From Russia With Love”. With artwork done by the talented Renato Fratini and less than a handful believed to exist, this poster is quite possibly the rarest of all, and is expected to fetch $10,000-$15,000. thunderball poster
This offering contains hundreds of original posters and merchandise, vastly eclipsing Chirstie South Kensington’s 1998 “James Bond 007” sale, and in upcoming weeks even more memorabilia from this amazing collection will be detailed.
