Zagato and Maserati have enjoyed a fruitful relationship for a long time and at this year’s Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, they will be celebrating with the preview of their new Mostro. Paying tribute to the 1957 Maserati 450 S Coupé—as well as Masterati’s 100-year anniversary—the gorgeous Mostro looks like a dream come true.
With only five models being produced, the 2015 Mostro will remain a dream to most. “Exactly as the Maserati 450 S Coupé Zagato ‘Monster’ was built for sport competitions and, subsequently, converted into a road car, the Mostro has been created from pure racing mechanics while also being road sanctioned,” says the Zagato press release.
The Italian auto is designed around a carbon fiber MonoCell that is coupled to a mid-structure of steel tubes that form the cockpit. With a central-front, V8 Maserati engine under the hood, Mostro promises the best weight distribution across its six-speed semi-automatic transmission and longitudinal axis. Aesthetically, the car features lines similar to that of the 450 S Coupé—like the large front—but differs with its fixed glass windows that blend in with the door, wide windshield, and large rear fixed-wing.
Who do we have to bribe to get our hands on one?
