Last week BMT Group and McConaghy Boats announced that the Tri60 will be headed to development, and we can't wait to see this super cool 60-foot trimaran made into a reality. Meant to be the perfect balance between style, speed, and space, the Tri60 was short-listed for the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2015 in the Yacht Concept up to 40m category. It was designed to bring the comfort of a leisure vessel to a power boat so you won't ever have to choose between the two again.
“BMT worked with McConaghy two years ago on a unique composite project at the same time that the much-celebrated 142-foot Adastra trimaran was being completed. We asked —How can we capture the spirit of this compelling work? How do we create something that is as innovative and exciting, whilst also being accessible to a wider dayboat or weekender market?” says Richard Colwill, Managing Director at BMT Asia Pacific.
With styling help from Henry Ward Design and A Sea Marine, the Tri60 is available in two forms: the open Cabriolet for those who love outdoor activities and the Saloon for anyone looking for a more enclosed lounging experience. Both styles are built around a traditional trimaran hull and feature a wide beam that is usually found on much larger yachts. The Tri60 has plenty of windows, skylights, and sliding glass doors that offer tons of natural light and help to combine the interior and exterior. The stern garage can fit a 10' four-person tender, and the pontoons can fit extra deck furniture and water toys.
