The Georgia Capitol Museum seeks to preserve and interpret the history of the Georgia State Capitol building itself as well as the events that have taken place within its walls. To carry out this purpose, the Museum collects, maintains, and exhibits significant artifacts, including historic flags and works of art, within the State Capitol. Visitors are also encouraged to visit the 'Hall of Valor,' which houses Georgia's priceless collection of historic flags.

The Georgia General Assembly is in session beginning the second Monday in January and continues for 40 working days. During this time the Capitol is busy with activity.
