Injectable skin treatments have never been more popular, and there is an almost perplexing plethora of practitioners from which to pick. And when it comes to injectables, it does pay to be picky: it is always best to go to the best aesthetician you can afford. As a multi-award-winning aesthetic doctor and surgeon, Dr. David Jack stands out as one of the most sought-after skin aesthetic experts in the UK. He is best known for his integrative and minimalist approach to skin rejuvenation, which has helped to build him an illustrious client-base, which includes A-list celebrities and royalty.
Dr. David Jack was born and raised in Scotland, where he studied medicine, anatomy, and embryology, leading on to a clinical career in plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine, which allowed him to experience a broad range of specialities, including burns and microsurgery, especially during his time with the NHS. He has trained with some of the most eminent plastic surgeons in the UK, including Maxim Horwitz. A member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Dr. Jack’s extensive medical training has equipped him with intricate knowledge of the face and its underlying structures, and his wide-ranging repertoire of treatments deliver the most natural results. Dr. Jack specializes in both surgical and non-surgical facial aesthetic procedures at his practices in London (on Harley Street and Ebury Street) and has acquired a loyal following thanks to his exceptionally subtle, ‘less is more’ approach, combined with his meticulous attention to detail. From his acclaimed London clinics, Dr. David Jack and his highly skilled team of practitioners provide the most innovative ‘tasteful tweakments’, which mean that Dr. Jack’s patients always look as good as possible for their age, without being overly ‘done’. This is because Dr. Jack favours subtle, minimalistic injectables – he is adamant about using them only to replace volume that has been lost and never to create anatomically unnatural structures or paralyse muscles in the face entirely. To achieve this, Dr. Jack and his team combine a diverse range of treatments to optimise both the appearance and health of the skin, including toxins, dermal fillers, lasers, peels and biorejuvenation. Dr. Jack also has an award-winning range of advanced cosmeceutical skincare and supplement products, designed to protect, rejuvenate, and improve skin health in a holistic, streamlined daily system that is easy to adhere to over the long term.
In addition to his impeccable medical credentials, Dr. David Jack’s highly trained aesthetic eye is related to the fact that he is passionate about art. The artwork that adorns his Belgravia and Harley Street clinics comes from his personal collection and includes a combination of different themes and styles from old masters (such as the Pannini painting in his Harley Street clinic) to more contemporary abstract paintings. He also collects tapestries, and in his Belgravia clinic there is a beautiful sixteenth century Aubusson Chinoiserie tapestry, which acts as a lavish a backdrop to the waiting area. Indeed,Dr. Jack affably admits that had he not become a plastic surgeon, he would probably have trained as an architect. As well as the evident enjoyment he derives from collecting artefacts, he has a keen eye for symmetry and art, which is so vital as an aesthetician, as the work he does – which in essence is facial architecture – is as much an art as it is a science.I have been seeing Dr. Jack at his Ebury Street clinic in Belgravia over the past few months, and from my first consultation I have been in the most capable, caring hands. On each occasion that I have been to visit, I have always received a warm welcome from the friendly reception team, and Dr. Jack has such a disarming personality that I immediately felt at ease. During my first consultation, before snapping on his surgical gloves, he wanted to find out what was bothering me about my face. I said I’d like to address my fine lines and sub-par, sallow January complexion, and he recommended Botulinum toxin for the former and Profhilo for the latter. A few dabs of numbing cream and some jabs later (which were low on the pain spectrum), and I was on my way. The appointmentis incredibly efficient – I was in and out of the clinic in 15 minutes, and the injections barely left any discernible marks, so it would be perfectly possible, should you wish, to slot an appointment into a lunchbreak and head back to the office without any raised eyebrows. In terms of results, both treatments more than exceeded expectations. It was only the second time that I had tried Profhilo, which is made of thermally cross-linked hyaluronic acid (a water-binding agent) that increases skin hydration levels long-term and is proven to stimulate four types of youth-giving collagen and elastin. Importantly, it’s quite different from fillers, which inflate parts of your face – Profhilo by contrast is best thought of as a ‘bio-stimulation’ treatment – something that stimulates the body into renewal. The skin-smoothing, brightening, and plumping agents makes it look like you’re moisturizing 16 times a day. Maximum efficacy is derived after the second dose (4-6 weeks after the first).
Dr. Jack is quite simply one of the best facial aestheticians in London. He is phenomenally knowledgeable, full of helpful advice, highly professional, and besides all this, is one of the kindest and most engaging people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting; he has a wonderful ability to establish a good rapport, and to put patients at ease, because he is unusually empathetic and open. An example of his magnanimity is the heroism he displayed in the Glasgow bin lorry disaster when he tried to resuscitate some of the dying victims in the horrific crash when he witnessed it (at the time he was an off-duty surgeon). He is very deft and skilful - a true artist and perfectionist, and the results he produces are simply spectacular. He combines a unique level of artistry with his clinical work, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
