Visit the Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 19 from 4 to 7pm for a free glimpse of The First Lady Suite inspired by SHOWTIME’S new anthology drama series The First Lady.
In celebration of the show, The Ritz-Carlton and SHOWTIME have re-imagined presidential suites in Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington DC and New York. The Los Angeles suite pays tribute to First Lady Betty Ford and the Ford era and includes set pieces, props and costumes from the production set of The First Lady.
In addition to props and furniture that exemplify 1970s style, the suite houses a scale model of the Betty Ford Center as well as copies of medical files from Ford’s battle against breast cancer and pieces of literature that advocate for women’s rights.
The suite provides a peek behind the curtain into the lives of the First Ladies in the series including audio, video and behind the scenes clips that reveal what it may have been like to live in the White House Residence.
Additionally, the hotel lobby has on display period costumes worn by Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty Ford, Gillian Anderson and Eleanor Roosevelt and Viola Davis as Michelle Obama.
The public will be able to enjoy a free guided tour of The First Lady Suite on Tuesday, April 19 from 4 to 7pm at The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles located at 900 W. Olympic Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles. The First Lady will air on SHOWTIME beginning Sunday, April 17.
