If you're looking for a new restaurant to check out this weekend, you're in luck because celebrity chef Fabio Viviani's new Siena Tavern Miami is finally open. As the second Siena Tavern from Chicago's DineAmic Hospitality Group (of which Viviani is partner), this new location has been in the works for a year, with a lot of effort going into renovating the 10,000-square-foot space. According to the Miami Eater, the restaurant shares some design elements with the Chicago eatery, but differs by offering much lighter colors and a lot more outdoor seating.
The kitchen is being led by Chef Paolo del Papa (formerly of Casa Tua) and offers a menu that fits in with a fairly healthy mindset. After all, since Siena Tavern Miami is close to the beach, they know serving lighter cuisine would be appreciated by the health-conscious beach goers. Though if you’re counting calories, watch out for the beer, because Wynwood Brewing Company has created a special Siena Brew just for the restaurant. And we all know how quickly those beer calories can add up, but that’s what cheat days are for, right?
As of right now, Siena Tavern Miami is open daily for dinner, though they plan on opening for brunch within the next few months. So far, lunch and happy hour aren't in the works, but it may happen if the demand is there.
