La Valencia hotel already has some pretty cool bragging rights. Sitting cliffside in La Jolla, the San Diego luxury property has been a local staple since 1926 and has played host to many celebrities, politicians and other notable guests. Now they have even more to boast about with the creation of their new penthouse offering known as the Sky Suite.
Recently, the iconic Pink Lady embarked on a $10 million renovation which included a new collection of rooms called Icon. The collection encompasses the La Valencia Villa, and the Sky and Pacific suites. “The Icon Collection is La V’s Presidential Suite caliber of accommodations,” explains hotel Managing Director, Mark Dibella. “Each suite has a unique take on space, location, drama, ocean views and style, that will appeal to our guests’ individual needs and underscore the relevance and extraordinary features of our ever- evolving seaside escape.”
The one-bedroom Sky Suite, took over the previous Sky Room Restaurant and Sun Deck. Located on the 10th floor, the retreat boasts 1,100 square feet of space and 180-degree ocean views. Designed in a 1940’s Hollywood style, the suite features yellow walls, gold accents, royal blue seating, hardwood floors and a Juliet balcony off the bedroom.
Inside the bathroom, there are granite countertops, an oversized shower with multiple shower heads and dual sinks. If you’re in need of more room, the Ocean View Junior Suite can be added on to allow for 2,000 square feet of space. Or, groups and wedding parties can book the entire 10th floor which includes six rooms and can accommodate up to 16 guests.
Icon Collection guests are treated to fresh flowers in the rooms, complimentary parking and a welcome amenity from the culinary staff. For dining options, La V is home to THE MED, their signature restaurant featuring New American cuisine and Café La Rue, a European bistro. While the La Valencia Villa and the Sky Suite are already available to book, the Pacific will debut toward the end of this year.
