San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo opened in 1915 after the culmination of the Panama-California Exposition, when many Americans were first introduced to animals from other parts of the world. Over 4,000 animals now call the San Diego Zoo their home, including the rarely-seen-in-captivity Giant Panda. Many exhibits are designed to safely allow the observation of animals without cages.

The San Diego Zoo is widely-regarded as one of the most progressive zoos in the world. They offer a full schedule of special events and experiences, like animal interactions and sleepovers.
