Tucked into the quiet embrace of Agrari Beach, the renowned Myconian Collection announced the opening of Sunrise Mykonos. An ode to the island’s soulful past, the beachfront resort has been reimagined for modern travelers seeking understated luxury and timeless beauty. Capturing a rare sense of serenity mixed with an essence of 1970s island life, the 49-key resort is a thoughtful blend of Cycladic architecture, nostalgic charm, and barefoot sophistication.
Acquired in 2024, Sunrise now stands as a Relais & Châteaux sanctuary with 49 rooms and suites. The once humble seaside hotel is framed by the golden curve of Agrari’s shore and spread across a natural amphitheater of whitewashed walls, timber details, and Mediterranean textures. Inviting guests into a world where luxury feels effortless, accommodations offer sea-facing terraces, shaded patios, and beachfront suites with private jacuzzis.

Interiors reflect the purity of island life, as designer Galal Mahmoud notes, 'this is the Mykonos we all experienced back in the 1970s and 1980s. We recreated that nostalgic, authentic glamour to immerse the guests into that atmosphere of the past.' Intimately tied to the landscape, the design echoes summer and simplicity. Sunlit, unpretentious and bright design.
Named after the tamarisk trees that shade Greece’s coastline, the beachfront taverna Almiriki honors recipes passed down through generations. Menus are shaped by the seasons and the bounty of the Myconian family farm, offering an authentic taste of the island’s heritage. Alongside, the Almiriki Pool Bar blends sea views and signature cocktails, presenting a destination for gathering, unwinding, and reconnecting.

Hidden among the gardens, the Almiriki Wellness Cabanas provide open-air sanctuaries where guests indulge in herb-infused massages, Aegean mineral therapies, and grounding rituals beneath the trees. Set either on terraces, sand, or under open skies, daily yoga sessions are offered at dawn and dusk, inviting guests into a slower, more intuitive way of being.
Free from the clamor of the main town, yet just five miles away, the resort’s location on Agrari Beach further allows guests to be enveloped in a bit of respite. As one of Mykonos’ last untouched coves, its shallow, crystalline waters and fine sand beckon travelers and families to relax but also explore. From snorkeling in calm bays, sipping ouzo at sunset, or wandering to sacred Delos for a dose of ancient history, guests can also book private caiques and yacht excursions to unveil the wild beauty of the island’s southern coast.
At Sunrise, luxury lives in simplicity, where every breeze, every wave, and every shared meal speaks to the joy of a summer well lived. Where the glamour of vintage Mykonos is rooted in a deep sense of place, intimate and unhurried.
