MGM Bets on a Full House in DC

There’s finally something to celebrate coming out of the Capital Region this winter—and it has nothing to do with the election. Bringing the first luxury gaming resort experience to the area, MGM National Harbour will open its doors on December 8. Minutes from DC on the banks of the Potomac River in Maryland, the $1.4 billion resort will feature a casino, celebrity-chef restaurants, nightlife, a 27,000-square-foot spa and retail shops.

One thing we know that definitely happens in Vegas is that the strip is an ever-changing work in progress. And the latest hotel to get a complete makeover is the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino which will soon be known as the MGM Park come late 2018. The new name is part of a $450 million renovation of the property that includes a complete overhaul of the guest suites and the addition of tons of new restaurants and shopping.

Atlantic City Selling $253.3 Million in Bonds for Boardwalk Hall & Convention Center Upgrades

While Atlantic City hasn’t always had all the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas, especially in recent years, the city is not giving up without a fight. In an attempt to return the seaside town to some of its former glory, the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority will be selling $253.3 million worth of bonds today which will translate into over $100 million in upgrades for Boardwalk Hall and the Atlantic City Convention Center.
