Rooftop Bars: Trendy New Yorkers are going to great heights this summer to enjoy a tasty, cold one. Rooftop bars provide not only a birds-eye view of the New York skyline, but also a refreshing change of scenery from the hustle and bustle of the streets below.

The Ravel Hotel
This new boutique hotel located in Long Island has all the locals raving. The Ravel Hotel offers an expansive garden terrace, which transforms each night into a unique party experience. Depending on the night, guests can kick back and watch local movies, puff on hand-rolled cigars, dance the samba, or enjoy a beach-themed soirée. Adding to its appeal, the terrace offers private cabanas, bottle service and can even host private events.

Hudson Terrace
The Hudson Terrace is an open-air rooftop garden lounge that brings the essence of Palm Springs to the big city. Designed to withstand the often unruly East Coast weather, the lounge provides glass-enclosed, curtained cabanas that are augmented with individually controlled heat and cooling units as well as temperature-regulated mahogany flooring. Additional highlights of the Hudson Terrace include a DJ booth, a state-of-the-art sound and light system, a centralized fireplace and conversation area, and of course a fully-stocked bar and rooftop kitchen.

Plunge Rooftop Pool + Lounge
Atop the uber-chic Gansevoort Hotel is the super swanky Plunge Rooftop Pool + Lounge. The 45-foot heated outdoor pool is the first of its kind in Manhattan and features both underwater music and colored lighting. The beautifully landscaped rooftop garden and lounge provide panoramic views of the city, the skyline and the Hudson River. Each weekend this summer, the lounge kicks into high gear by hosting "Get Up Get Down," a Saint-Tropez-themed party where European guest DJs man the turn tables and tropical drinks make their rounds.
