When it comes to dining out in South Florida, restaurateurs know they must find a way to stand out in the fiercely competitive dining scene.

From offering Happy Hour specialties to providing exemplary service, it’s all about making a name for yourself and attracting a loyal customer base that keeps returning.

That’s just what the folks at Louie Bossi’s Ristorante, Bar & Pizzeria have done since opening at the Hyatt Place Boca Raton/Downtown in 2017. (They also operate a second restaurant in Fort Lauderdale).

The Italian scratch kitchen prides itself on making all of its pasta, bread, gelatos, pastries, and cookies in-house each day.

Headed by Big Time Corporate Executive Chef/Partner, Louie Bossi, the restaurant recently added two new weekly specials to its menu.

On Thursdays, they offer La Mezza Luna, a house-made panini bread baked, folded, and stuffed with Mezza Luna cotto prosciutto, torn burrata, arugula, extra virgin olive oil, and tomato jam, accompanied by house-made rosemary potato chips and giardiniera.

On Fridays, they offer Louie’s Hot Crispy Chicken Sandwich. The specialty offering features a chicken breast marinated with garlic, rosemary, orange, and thyme, dipped in buttermilk, breaded in seasoned flour, fried until crispy, and tossed in Calabrian hot honey. The sandwich is served on a grilled brioche bun brushed with lemon aioli, topped with house-made pickles, and served with a side of truffle parmesan fries.

We recommend starting off with one of their specialty cocktails like an Aperol Spritz, Prickly Pear Negroni, or Hibiscus-Spiced Margarita. Pair it up with one of their small plates designed for sharing like the cheese and prosciutto board with almonds and truffle honey.

Other popular dishes include Sicilian olives and provolone, Arancini con tartufo, and clams oreganata.

We love the spiced-up calamari a la plancha – their unique take on the traditional fried offering. A grilled sampling arrived with sautéed garlic, cherry tomatoes, arugula, and Fresno peppers. Be sure to save some of the warm crusty bread to mop up every last morsel or try an order of their wood-grilled bruschetta.

The Caprese salad with fresh tomato and basil topped with extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic is large enough to share, but so good you may not want to.

For main events, don’t miss the clams and linguine or the standout Rigatoni alla Bolognese made with braised beef and veal in Barolo wine.

Other classic pasta dishes include Cacio e Pepe, Spaghetti Carbonara, and Fruitti di Mare.

They also offer a great selection of wood-fired pizzas with toppings that range from pepperoni, meatball, and fennel sausage to house-made pancetta, speck, and white anchovies.

Louie Bossi’s Ristorante and Pizzeria is located at 100 East Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton.
