The latest luxury makeup collection by cosmetic giant Lancôme Paris is inspired by the brand’s new fragrance, Trésor Midnight Rose. The Midnight Roses Fall 2012 makeup collection "evokes a mischievous femininity and glamour," thanks to a base of majestic purple hue. Needless to say, if you’re a fan of purple, then you’ll probably love this collection. Full of deep plums and violets, the color palette results in a sophisticated and mature look that is appropriate for fall.
The Midnight Roses makeup collection features six new products— four of which are limited edition— in a variety of different hues. The Blush Subtil & Highlighter Palette alone comes in six different color combinations to match different skin tones. The options range from rosy blushes to dark burgundies. The $42 palette includes three shades that lend to their overall color theme, in matte, shimmery, and iridescent textures. Choose from “Rose Flush,” “Framboise Flirt,” “Plum Elegance,” “Nectar Lace,” “Peche Savvy,” or “Rouge Allure.”
Though the blush palette includes options for different types of skin, the plum theme of the rest of the collection is flattering on any skin tone. The formula for L’Absolu Crème de Mat Lip Gloss combines the gentleness of a gloss and the coverage of a lipstick, making it a collection mainstay and fan favorite. The Midnight Roses collection contributes three new limited edition shades to its line of glosses, at $29.50 each. “Potion D’Amour” is a deep matte berry, while “Magie Pourpre” is a brighter pink version of the same hue. “Prune Mantille,” on the other hand, is a light plum with more of a red-coral base.
Finally, everyone loves a little nail color, and Lancôme made sure to give us a great shade for this fall. The Vernis in Love nail polish line includes two new $15 bottles: “Infusion de Prune,” a deep plum, and “Mat Top Coat,” a clear finishing lacquer. The hue of “Infusion de Prune” provides ultimate brilliance and intense color, providing a delightful finishing touch for any of your “Midnight Roses”-inspired looks. Other products in this collection include a new shade of eyeliner, as well as a limited edition shadow and liner palette and three limited edition lipstick shades.
