Burbank welcomes a refined steakhouse to the Media District with the recent opening of The Capital Grille. The new restaurant, in the former Claimjumper space, houses polished interiors and an elegant, quiet ambiance, staking its claim as a destination for business lunches, celebratory dinners, or a quiet evening of fine dining. Diners are greeted by discreet lighting, white tablecloths and plush deep red booths. Guests can sit in the large bar and lounge area and enjoy sports television at the long bar or bites and cocktails at intimate tables. The outdoor patio is beautiful and perfect for date nights, while inside the large main dining room is comfortable with large portraits of movie stars. There are also several private dining rooms perfect for business gatherings or special events, all adorned with movie star legend portraits. We especially loved the Marilyn Monroe, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz Jr. imagery.

“Burbank is known as the entertainment capital of Los Angeles,” said Britney Gregorie, managing partner at the Capital Grille. “At The Capital Grille we take pride in our ability to wine, dine and put on a show! We are excited to open our doors and host the Burbank community to start creating memorable dining experiences for them.”

At the heart of the kitchen are dry-aged, in-house butchered steaks aged 18–24 days, including chef recommendations such as sliced filet mignon with Cipollini onions, mushrooms and fig essence; porcini rubbed bone in ribeye with 15 year aged balsamic; kona crusted dry aged bone in New York strip with shallot butter and seared tenderloin with butter poached lobster tails. There is also a wide choice of hand-carved steaks and chops, including a 22-ounce bone-in ribeye, 18-ounce and 14-ounce dry-aged bone-in New York strip, 10-ounce filet mignon, tomahawk veal chop, roasted chicken breast and double-cut lamb rib chops. Seafood lovers also have lots to sample with sushi grade seared sesame tuna with gingered rice; seared citrus glazed salmon with brown butter; seared sea scallops with Main lobster and asparagus risotto and sea bass with miso butter.

Appetizers include fresh oysters, jumbo lump crab cocktail, lobster and crab cake, shrimp cocktail, caviar and onion dip with chips, prosciutto wrapped mozzarella with tomatoes, calamari with hot cherry peppers, tuna tartare with avocado, mango and sriracha and large and small cold shellfish platters.
There is also New England clam chowder, French onion soup, lobster bisque, a roasted beet and goat cheese salad, Caesar salad, Bleu Cheese wedge salad and burrata with heirloom tomatoes.
Sides include a delicious lobster mac n cheese, parmesan truffle fries, au gratin potatoes, roasted mushrooms, sauteed spinach, creamed spinach, grilled asparagus with lemon mosto, soy glazed brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes and cream corn with bacon.
There is a huge wine list to choose from and traditional and custom created cocktails. Desserts include cheesecake with berries, crème brulee, coconut cream pie, flourless chocolate espresso cake and seasonal berries.
Ideal for business dinners, date night or celebrations, the Capital Grille in Burbank is a much needed steakhouse addition to the Toluca Lake and Burbank neighborhoods. Located at 3500 W. Olive Avenue, open Monday through Friday from 11am to 9pm, Saturday from 4pm to 10pm, 818.303.2021 for reservations.
