Catalina Island

Catalina Island is one of Southern California's most popular and adventurous destinations. The island is known for an array of outdoor activities as well as its vibrant history as a glamorous retreat for Hollywood celebrities. It is home to only one incorporated town, Avalon, which is located in a serene cove and has a casino.

Getting to the island requires a ferry ride from one of the city's ports, or using one of the various companies that offer helicopter rides. Popular attractions on the island are golf, ziplining, sailing, and scuba-diving.
