Saint Mark's Basilica

This Roman Catholic cathedral is by far the most famous church in the city of Venice and is a superb display of Byzantine architecture that is comparable aesthetically to the most renowned structures in the world. This being the case, Saint Mark’s Basilica is an extremely popular tourist attraction in Venice and is likewise a highly recommended location for travelers that come from all walks of life.

As one of Italy’s major structures that has stood the test of time, Saint Mark’s Basilica is gorgeous fusion of Eastern and Western period architecture and provides visitors with spectacular views and intriguing history throughout the site. Also, as Saint Mark’s Basilica is at the same location as Saint Mark’s Square (Piazza San Marco) and Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), a full day can be easily made out of visiting this attraction in Venice, especially considering the history and significance of both of those sites as well.
