The Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island, unveiled a five-year, $65 million investment in new guestrooms, a ballroom, a spa and dining areas. The plan is to offer couples an exceptional location to celebrate their wedding. "Like brides and grooms everywhere, we understand and value the time and commitment it takes to plan the perfect event," says James McManemon, the resort's general manager. "Over the last five years, we made a significant investment in our resort to create an experience that we hope couples will cherish for a lifetime." Sofitel Launches Brigitte Bardot Exhibit at its Luxury Hotels

The Sofitel Los Angeles recently launched BB Forever - Brigitte Bardot, The Legend. The Legend is a showcase of 30 exclusive photographs of Ms. Bardot taken at various destinations of Sofitel properties. The special exhibition encompasses the life of Bardot, a teenage dreamer to a modern-day star. The show will run throughout 2012 with stops at Sofitel hotels in Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, DC, and New York City. This is the first time an exhibit in the U.S. has featured an international celebrity. Henry-Jean Servat, a famed French journalist and author, is a principal collaborator of the exhibition. Sofitel's First Hotel in India an Epicurean Delight with Six Restaurants

The Sofitel Mumbai BKC is the first hotel to open in India for the French luxury hotelier. Located in the center of Mumbai’s business district within the Bandra Kurla Complex, the deluxe hotel will cater to both business and leisure travelers. The new upscale property features six restaurants and bars, including the super chic and spacious Bar Diamantaire, which houses India’s first wine tower. A traditional North Indian cuisine is on the menu at Jyran, while artisanal meats, cheeses, and Parisian chocolates L’Artisan — Epicere, Patisserie, Chocolaterie. The Viceroy Hotel Group announced that two of its luxury destinations will re-launch as Viceroy Hotels and Resorts this year: the Tides Zihuatanejo in Ixtapa, Mexico, and the Jalousie Plantation in Sugar Beach, St. Lucia. The announcement of the two re-launching projects in 2012 comes on the heels of the reopening of the Viceroy Rivera Maya near the Yucatan Peninsula, in Mexico. Design Hotels Opens an Amsterdam Location That Harmonizes With Luxury

The Conservatorium Hotel Amsterdam is the newest Netherlands luxury hotel to join the Design Hotels collection of more than 200 hotels. The hotel’s building previously served the community as Amsterdam’s top music conservatorium. Luxury Hotel Collection Will Open New Resort in China Early 2014

Luxury hotel brand One&Only announced that its first hotel and resort in China will open in early 2014. China’s first One&Only is being raised on Tufu Bay in Sanya, Hainan, China. Tufu Bay looks out onto the South China Sea. There are several luxury hotel brands, such as Mandarin Oriental, with hotels and resorts in Sanya, the southernmost city in the People’s Republic of China. The One&Only Sanya resort will place an emphasis on privacy and luxury while evoking a “sense of place” that showcases the natural elements of Sanya. From the Côte d'Azur, the 1930-style Monte-Carlo Beach Relais & Chateaux is set to reopen on March 2. The luxury resort is reminiscent of the over-the-top decadence of the 1930s.
