Are you fed up with booking vacations that feel a bit underwhelming? You aren’t alone!

Your budget can often get in the way of lavish spending on five-star hotels, fine dining and sightseeing excursions.

But don’t fret, you don’t have to compromise on a luxe vacation, you just have to know how to make your budget work for you! Read on for some tips on how to have a budget-friendly vacation without losing that luxe feeling.

Stick to a Budget

It sounds contradictory, doesn’t it? You need to stick to a budget to have a luxury trip? Well, yes! Whether you’re staying at Westgate Resorts or a lower-end motel, you need to set a strict budget and stick to it. Don’t overpay and cause yourself financial stress. Having a budget and the discipline to follow it will allow you to focus on things you just can’t miss.

Choose What Matters to You

For some people, staying in a remote five-star resort is non-negotiable. Others may prioritize experiences or food, meaning staying in an underwhelming hotel is worth it to them. Either way, if you want to have a luxury vacation for a budget price, choose what matters to you. You might have to pick one thing over another, but you’ll be prepared for that, and you can be confident about that decision.

Visit in the Off-Season

Would you expect to save money going to Disneyland in the middle of the summer? What about going to Aspen in the winter? Probably not! So, if you can, try to make sure you book your vacation during the off-season. This will vary based on where you’re going. If you’re planning a trip to Europe, November to March is the off-season period, and if you’re traveling to Asia, try June to October. Be sure to check the off-season and book your vacation accordingly. You might just get a five-star vacation for a one-star price tag.

Look Out for Deals

Of course, one of the best ways to get a luxury feel on a budget vibe is to look for deals. This can be anywhere. If you’re traveling to a small town in Italy, check the local restaurants to see if they have any deals. Or if you’re going to be staying in a hotel for a set week, see if the hotel is offering discounts at their local spa. During the off-season, many hotels, restaurants and other chains in tourist hotspots will offer deals, so check them out and take full advantage.

Consider Using a Travel Agent

It can be ever so tempting to book everything yourself, but you might want to consider a travel agent. If you book your trip with a travel agency, you’ll be able to get perks that aren’t typically advertised to the public. These can include free upgrades to your hotel and free breakfast, as well as reduced prices excursions. Add all these things together and you’ve got a luxury vacation on a budget!
