A Kids Beds' Tale

A long, long time ago, in a kingdom far, far away, people gathered mud, stones, woods and other available materials to form a raised part of their house where they would lay down to sleep. On top of this primitive bed, people throw in straw, leaves, plants, feathers, wool, animal skin or fur to make the "bed" more comfortable. Naturally abundant materials were usually used to make the bed.

The beds were used to fight cold during chilly season, and to avoid dirt and those creepy, crawly bugs that roam free during warm season. As civilization progressed and became complicated, and so are the humble beds.

Kings, queens, pharaohs and royalties have commissioned elaborate beds made of sturdy woods or metals. Some beds have intricate carvings, while others were gilded. Bedroom furniture, including beds, has become treasures with fine decorations made of gold, precious stones and pearls.

From their humble beginnings, beds have come a long way. In these modern times, various beds are available for the whole family. From a sleek modern bed to an elaborately decorated king-sized bed to a custom shaped bed, the sky is the limit.

Beds are such basic fixtures in our home that we often take them for granted. However, a bed is a very important part of one's home -- unless one prefers to sleep on the chilly floor. A bed is where we can fully and completely rest, and wake up to face another day's challenges.

Children would surely love to have a warm and beautiful all for themselves. A child's bed is an important part of his or her growing up years. A child's creativity and confidence can be seen by the way they choose and arrange their kids beds.

A growing child is full of imagination and whatever they want to become in life, they can start dreaming of it in their kids beds. For instance, a grown up doctor might reminisced that growing up, he or she had loved an all white bed and furniture in the bedroom. A fashion designer may remember demanding that her parents buy a princess carriage-style bed, and a racer, who won't leave the furniture shop without his car-shaped bed.

Today's kids beds come in different sizes, shapes and colors. The kids can choose, and yes, let them choose, a bed for themselves. The kids' choices might be a bed in the shape of their favorite toys, foods or movie and tv characters and many more.

Parents should be careful in buying beds that fit their kids. Bunk beds with guardrail are for the energetic ones. Safety should always come first. For kids with lots of toys and stuff, there are also trundle beds for more space and storage.

We don't have to break the bank to sleep in style. There are stores that offer affordable yet quality beds. Try checking online stores, where you can browse their kids beds with your kids beside you, without leaving home.

With all the many assortment of beds available in stores and online, there is always something for everyone. So, next time you go shopping, you may want to splurge a little for yourself and the whole family on nice comfortable beds.
