The 70th Cannes Film Festival has passed by in a flurry of high-profile events, charity gala nights and celebrity soirées that ensured Cannes was firmly planted on the global media stage between the 14th and 28th of May 2017.

A number of spectacular fashion shows were hosted during the Cannes Film Festival, including amfAR's annual AIDS charity gala evening at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, with a runway show curated by Carine Roitfeld. Cannes Fashion was hosted at the InterContinental Carlton and organized by New York-based entrepreneur Andres Aquino in conjunction with the Global Short Film Awards, and for its second second year, Tiffany's Red Carpet Week was also at Cannes, with international designers facilitated by leading fashion designer Tiffany McCall. Carolina Guna's haute couture runway show at Villa Oxygene was also put on by Richard Nilsson in support of World Peace Night, with a performance from VIP guest Jermaine Jackson.

Participating designers during these events had the exclusive opportunity to showcase their collections to elite audiences with Champagne, VIP gift bags and red carpet receptions alongside fabulous entertainment from global performers including singers Rita Ora, Diana Ross and Nicki Minaj, guitarist/singer Jared Hanrahan and singer Blake Carrington.

If the action in the palace hotels on the Croisette wasn't enough, superyachts hosted guests for Tattinger-fuelled evenings in the Bay of Cannes, whilst private villas in the hills above the French Riviera welcomed producers, actors, actresses, models and filmmakers for sumptuous cocktail parties and industry networking including Château de la Colle Noire and Villa Oxygene.

Young filmmaker Qiana Swan from the U.S., whose film Left in the Dark: Mental Disorders was appearing in the Short Film Corner, agreed that Cannes was invaluable for networking and broadening industry contacts with other established filmmakers.

Other high-profile soirées included the Vanity Fair party, the Netflix party and Chopard's SPACE party, with guest performer Bruno Mars as well as the Chopard dinner to launch the Rihanna Loves Chopard jewelry collection.
