Christmas shopping in London
By: Neel   |    December 12, 2012   |   0 Comments (0) (0)

Christmas comes but once a year and with it comes the special joys of finding the perfect gift for those loved ones. We search high and low, panicking through the crowds and trying to choose something that doesn’t resemble what we’ve given for the last three years at least! It becomes more of a cumbersome and quite stressful chore that needs to be completed by the deadline rather than a fun-filled festive gesture that brings joy to the giver and receiver. Don’t let that become the case this year by planning the shopping spree ahead and in the one place where you’ll be able to find anything you need from unusual gift ideas and handmade crafts to unique fashion pieces. Head straight to the capital and make it into a joyful break exploring some of the famous sites as well as hunting for the bargains.

There are an abundance of cheap trains to London and you’ll get value for money as it will be a break from the usual shopping malls and supermarkets. London has several different Christmas markets on where you can pick up those special authentic one-off gifts that are rare to come by in the high street stores. Get into the Christmas spirit perusing through the traditional German-style wooden huts at the Southbank Centre Christmas Market. Pick up handmade wooden toys, gourmet food, antiques and much, much more. On from the 16th November 2012 to 23rd December 2012 between the Southbank Centre and London Eye, you’ll be able to enjoy the Christmassy sites around central London at the same time. There’s a special treat for the Chocoholics as there is a Chocolate Festival at Southbank Centre from the 7th-9th December 2012. Not only do you get a chance to buy from the world’s best chocolatiers but you also get to taste all sorts of different chocolate combinations absolutely free!

So grab a rail ticket from as close as Windsor to London and not only will you have a variety of shops to browse through as well as the festive markets, but you can also take advantage of the 2FOR1 offers available to over 150 attractions meaning you could treat yourself once you’re feet are too tired to search any further! To claim this fantastic offer just download your vouchers online or pick up a leaflet from your local station. Choose from one of the famous attractions like Madam Tussands or London Dungeons or maybe a theatre show or they can even be used at participating eateries.

So make this Christmas shop a special treat by heading to one of the most famous cities in the world. Enjoy the mulled wine and hot waffles and submerge yourself in the festive cheer. Pick up some great gifts in markets or one of the many unique boutiques. Make it all happen by visiting www.southwesttrains.co.uk and booking your rail tickets today.
