@BAC64 It`s not about if they know or don`t know nor it`s about some particular brand but it`s about appearance and about that huge class gap between us, what is mainly created by my appearance in front of naked and starving kids.

I doubt they will all know what is Chanel or Burberry...

Yes and no. Everything is relative, so it gives social standing comparing to which society... If I go with all-in-Burberry-Chanel to some African village, I`ll definately will have obvious "social standing"...

I believe that if we're honest with ourselves buying luxury makes us feel that we're a part of the social elite. Also, buying luxury is about the quality of the product as well.

I think buying luxury is a social dictate whose reward is status appreciation. So we buy luxury not because we actually love the articles but because we crave the admiration and appreciation we get from our society when we are seen to posses luxury.

I think Fashion dictates our world, and we are the sheep that follow blindly the tendancies...I love people who will break the rules and go totally another way! The fashion industry is just a bad reflexion of our society as a whole with all its excess, and decadence! If you feel that having luxury items will give you a social standing you are wrong...if you don't have a personality to back up your style...you're nothing!

Luxury products do give you social standing even if you are a Kardashian, but they do not buy you class. Style is inherent to those with class.

No it dose not it just means you like quality. In regard to social standing, it should be dictated on how much time and resources you give that make a vision a reality that serve to better society.

I think it would depend on the style with which you purchase and use/consume/wear your luxury.
