Fashion of Transparency at SF Arts Event

The Arts of Fashion Foundation has been holding a worldwide competition and the final results came to life at an event held the San Francisco Art Institute last weekend. Multiple internships were awarded and high fashion reigned supreme at the gathering which featured a theme of transparency.

 

While the Giants worked their way to another World Series win last weekend, the San Francisco Art Institute was hosting a different sort of sport. Local group The Arts of Fashion Foundation closed their annual Symposium with an awards ceremony and reception for the 50 finalists in its student competition, with winners receiving internships with fashion brands and scholarships to the group’s summer MasterClass series in Paris. Founder Nathalie Doucet decided to shift away from a traditional runway show and instead chose an art gallery approach to view the designs. Most of this year’s events were free to the public and with the professional lectures, films, and ongoing access to the design process it proved to be a real festival of fashion. Read More
