While most travelers are focused on getting from point A to point B in the most efficient way possible, other travelers opt for a more scenic route, knowing that the journey is the ultimate destination. Keeping in line with that notion, the Gotthard Panorama Express helps travelers explore, discover and see parts of Switzerland in a unique way.

Focusing on points that highlight Switzerland’s beauty and history, the Gotthard Panorama Express begins in picturesque Lucerne, where a boat takes travelers across Lake Lucerne. From there, travelers board a first-class panorama train, which spirals up the Gotthard route, traveling from 1,500 to 3,600 feet high. On board, travelers will have access to an app with information on the history of the route and details of best photography opportunities. Additionally, the each first-class car comes with a multilingual guide. The journey continues southwards between Goschenen and Airolo, over the Gotthard-Panoramastrecke.

The journey ends in Bellinzona near Ascona in the Mediterranean-like Ticino. Guests will spend the night at Hotel Eden Roc. A Tschuggen Group property, Hotel Eden Roc offers guests a wide range of modern and colorful luxury suites with an incredible view of Lake Maggiore. The following day, travelers will return back to Lucerne, or elsewhere, on the same gorgeous journey.
