High-Class Car Show in Pebble Beach

Want to go to one of the coolest car shows in existence? Head over to the annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and check out some seriously impressive rides.

 

This exclusive, exclusionist town (population 4,531) is a five-gated community. Nonresidents have to pay $9.75 to enter. The excuse is that it allows access to “17-Mile Drive,” a picturesque circuit of the rocky Pacific coastline that surrounds the southern half of the Monterey Peninsula, as well as a lot of rich people’s houses in the woods.

The 5,000 acres of Pebble Beach (half of them controlled by the Pebble Beach Company) contain seven golf courses—one per 641 residents. The queen course is Pebble Beach Golf Links (opened in 1919), where golfers play eight of 18 holes alongside (and one over) the ocean, at $500 a round. Continue Reading
