How to Even Out Your Skin Tone

Flickr

Nobody has a perfect skin tone. We all had that almost perfect skin tone, once in our lives, and that was when we were little children, and our skin still wasn’t tortured with sun, pollution, acne, make up and different kind of bad influences. As it is impossible to travel trough time and take back that perfect skin, we can do whatever is in our power to improve the texture of our skin.

Things to avoid

First thing to do is to give up the things that you know are bad for your skin. Chlorine affects bad on your complexion, so if you can’t avoid it, then try your best to clean as much as possible your skin after going to the pool. Falling asleep with your makeup on can lead to bacterial infections and clogged pores, which can cause acne, so make sure to remove your make up before going to bed. A hot shower is a real pleasure, but try to finish showering as soon as you notice that your skin is becoming itchy and red. As you know, smoking can hurt your skin, but so does secondhand smoke, it can significantly speed up the wrinkle process. Remember to sleep enough. Not getting a good night’s sleep can result in dull skin and clogged pores.

Eat healthy

If you want your skin to be at its best, you should keep in mind that in that case junk food is not a good option. Eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, it will help you remain hydrated, and of course drink at least two liters of water per day.

Take proper care of your skin

Exfoliate with face scrubs, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, beta alpha hydroxy pads or any Vitamin A product, once a week. Your skin is covered in dead skin cells that are mucking up the surface of your skin and causing your skin to not only look dull, but older as well. Moisturize from the outside as well as from the inside. Drink a lot of water and use moisturizers for your skin. Treat yourself with a facial. Facials, from either a local spa or your dermatologist, greatly improve skin clarity and complexion over time. If you have problem with age spots and wrinkles get a laser treatment at your dermatologist. If you can’t deal with those annoying acne, maybe you should consult an expert. It has brought to my attention by many friends who have had that problem that acne treatment in Melbourne is trusted and efficient.

Natural ways to even your skin tone

Applying lemon juice on your skin helps in balancing pH, which is a critical requirement for an even toned skin. You can also apply milk or honey on your skin, to improve its look and health. Honey acts as a moisturizer and has antibacterial properties. Its antibacterial properties work to diminish the size of acne scars and blemishes. As for milk, it is an effective natural way to lighten and soften your skin.

Use makeup to cover up imperfections

Now that you have done all you can to bring back your almost youthful skin, it is still not perfect, right? So, the next step is to use your almost perfect skin as a canvas for a beautiful painting that you’ll paint by using a girl’s most powerful weapon – makeup. Foundation is the most important part of the application process when trying to even out your skin tone. The right foundation will cover uneven areas and blemishes with ease. Aside from foundation, blush and powder can also help even out your skin tone.

Remember that taking care of your skin is an ongoing process that you should have on your mind constantly, not only when you have skin problems.
