Ivy Kirzhner: A dream Come True for Shoe Lovers

A Peek into the Showroom at IVEY KIRZHNER, New York Spring Collections, 2012.

Walking into the IVY KIRZHNER Designer Shoe Suite at the Spring 2012 Collections in New York is a movie fan's dream come true.  Her theme for the Spring Season is inspired by a mystical world of Cleopatra and ancient Egypt. Instantly you picture Elizabeth Taylor entering the room in her golden jewel incrusted sandals.  This vision is very much on trend.  Her platform sandals look like Art Deco metal sculptures with floating platforms that present the foot in high style.  Warm golds, some with a rose tint or a burnt yellow tone are used throughout the collection. Both shiny or matte surfaces and hand cast pieces with jeweled overlays or Cabochon stones are used in combination with nails, rivets or hand-cut jewels. You simply have to pick up the shoes to take a closer look because you can't believe how beautifully detailed they are.  Yes, of course, you are dying to try them on and take them with you but they are simply not available yet in the stores. We just have to wait.

The shoes were shown in a variety of styles including flats, a new spin on the typical "Tory" flat we're all famliar with; these were elegant and incrusted with jewels and very comfortable.  Her open toed pumps had high heels with Art Deco Geometrics reminiscent of the 1920s.  You could easily picture Theda Bara, the original Cleopatra, wearing these shoes.  In combination with the the new fresh looks for Spring, these shoes will work well with slacks, long column dresses or evening/cocktail looks that have a simple geometric profile; a strapless long or short dress for example. With the new spring suits, Ivy's platform pumps would be a great compliment to jackets that are made with shaped or angular shoulder pads and skirts that are slim to showcase the legs. Of course, a designer jean and tank top will be worn from MIAMI to LA and no fashion girl will be without these platform sandals to compliment this look.  We predict Ivey's open toed platforms will be a huge shoe for her this season, they are really the perfect shoe for almost any spring 2013 Look.

The prices will be comparable to a Michael Kors, or LAMB and available in luxury department stores or boutiques. IVY is an inspired unique voice in the world of shoes and that is why BCBG recently asked her to be the new shoe designer for their luxury division.

For further information on the shoes such as where to find them, we'll all have to wait until its announced; I hope its not too long, my feet could use something new, fresh and fabulous this coming Spring.
