J Schatz Au Gratin Ovenware Changes the Way We Cook

J Schatz

Cooking just got a whole lot easier thanks to J Schatz. If you aren’t familiar with this brand, they are based in California and create beautiful hand designed works of art from lighting and planters to sculptures and cookware.

They have recently introduced a line of ceramic ovenware that is designed to go from refrigerator to oven to tabletop. It doesn’t get much easier than that.

We love the gorgeous handcrafted light aqua au gratin ovenware. Whether you are cooking from scratch or simply serving up a reheated dish, this is a beautiful addition to any table.

What makes the line so unique is eachpiece is handcrafted from a speckled stoneware clay and glazed to perfection. The result? No two are alike, but that’s what we love about the collection that comes in seven finishes, six glossy colors and rustic metallic black. The au gratin ovenware can be taken directly from the fridge into a hot oven and you don’t have to worry about it cracking as the ceramic is resistant to temperature changes.

We made a deliciously hot spinach and artichoke dip in the large 11-inch wide unit (with three-quart capacity) and served it up at a recent party. Down to the very last scoop, our dip was the only one to stay hot without having to be placed on a warmer. The au gratin ovenware is also microwave safe.

When you are finished with it, simply hand wash with soap and water. Be sure to store in a handy location as this is one piece that is sure to be used often.
