Two words: September and Gaga. It’s no secret that September issues are kind of a big deal and Vogue snatched up a great cover contender for the anticipated month, no other than Lady Gaga. The star broadcasted on Twitter to share the first peek at the cover and also posted to her Little Monsters page: “SHH DONT TELL TWITTER/ SEPT ISSUE OF VOGUE MAGAZINE/ Sorry Anna but the underground kids deserve it. bisous! […].”
The cover is simply stunning. Gaga channels a glamorous drag queen (oxymoron?) in the head-turning shot. She even bragged tweeting, “Who else sees me channeling @RuPaul on the COVER of VOGUE.” The pop icon is draped in a fuchsia-colored mermaid-cut Marc Jacobs gown, a bold look that you just can’t turn away from. But we can’t have Gaga without some controversy or explicit content, right? Inside the glossy’s covers in a story photo, Gaga bared more for the world to see, posing naked in a very pink Steven Jones hat.
With Gaga’s 28-million-plus Twitter followers in addition to other social media outlets she promotes to, this month’s rag is sure to sell off the racks.
