Legal Sea Foods is well known in Boston for its selection of fresh seafood, creamy chowder and grilled specialties. While each location offers a unique take, the Burlington location is one of our favorites with its sushi offerings (offered only at three other locations - Legal Harborside, Hingham and Lynnfield).
Located inside the Burlington Mall, the spacious restaurant features a comfortable bar, massive dining room and separate take-out counter. We recommend getting started with a Red Dragon roll, a combination of spicy tuna topped with tuna and wasabi mayo. Don’t miss the crispy golden fried Montauk calamari (we love the spicy Rhode Island style served with hot peppers and garlic). It can also be prepared Thai style with pineapple and peanuts. Other starters here include shrimp wontons, bang bang cauliflower, smoked salmon, steamers and sautéed mussels.
For main events, we love the shrimp and garlic pasta dish, a delicious combination of tomato, scallions and mushrooms, tossed with fresh pasta. One of the real standouts here is the two-pound baked stuffed lobster. The massive sampling arrived filled with an addictive shrimp and scallop buttery cracker stuffing. Order up some sides like the creamy mashed potatoes, jalapeno cheddar polenta, sautéed kale, grilled asparagus or sugar snap peas that are large enough to share to complement your dining experience.
When it comes to dessert, the key lime pie is worth a mention served with a wedge of fresh lime and whipped cream.
