Losing Weight With Smaller Portions

Losing weight is often a very difficult process for individuals. Eating easily becomes a way of life and it forms habits that are hard to break. Eating less and having smaller portions is perhaps the best way to control your weight when it is combined with exercise and a balanced intake. Smaller portions can be a difficult regime to maintain but there are ways to make it easier:

Front load your day

Making the largest meal of your day breakfast will leave you more satisfied throughout the day than a small breakfast and a large dinner will. By taking in a healthy breakfast with slow releasing carbs and fruit, you will find that you remain less hungry throughout the day. This is actually also far better for you than eating a large meal at the end of the day because it allows you more time to digest the complex carbs so they are broken into sugars rather than into fat. Lunch should be your second largest meal with dinner coming last in terms of size.

Eat healthy snacks

If you usually snack on chocolate or simply eat so much that snacking isn’t an option, then a switch to an apple a day really can keep the doctor away. Fruit is a good food to snack on instead of other foods. This may not feel like a reduction in calories but each piece of fruit you eat instead of a chocolate bar will save you around 200 calories of intake and benefit your body more. Considering that 200 calories means around a 2 mile cycle, it is far easier to cut back on the intake than to try and run it off.

Get a smaller plate

Bizarrely, people eat less when they are eating from a smaller plate or bowl. The size of your bowl impacts the perception of how much you are eating so you will actually get full quicker when eating from a smaller plate. A simple switch of crockery can help you to cut down on meal sizes without even realising it.

Hypnotherapy

Weight loss hypnotherapy is utilised to reduce the feeling of hunger and thus reduce intake. By opting for hypnotherapy for weight loss you will effectively be tricking your body into thinking it is full. This is an excellent way to lose weight quickly without the discomfort of operations or of starving yourself. It is important to maintain a healthy diet throughout this process but you will be amazed at how quickly the pounds fall off.

Drink more

Drinking more is a good way to keep your stomach full and reduce the feelings of hunger suffered by those cutting back on food. When you drink more it is essential that you do not drink soft drinks, alcohol or other high calorie liquids. These should ideally be cut out of your diet anyway and should not be used as hunger represents. Drinking water or green tea, however, will greatly help you to keep your stomach at peace despite your body craving food. Be careful not to overdo the water intake but it does offer a great way to reduce the amount of food consumed.
