Loud Styles Good and Bad from the Soul Train Awards

The 2012 Soul Train Awards were full of experimental and over-the-top fashions, but that doesn't mean that all of them were bad. Take Elise Neal, for example, who wore a bright red gown that was both eye catching and quite elegant. Compare that to Kat Graham's floral-print, high-slit dress and you can immediately spot the difference between timeless fashion and drastic missteps.

 

The 2012 Soul Train Awards brought some serious groove to Las Vegas Wednesday night, but some of the fashions on the red carpet outside the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino fell flat.

Worst: Kat Graham - The "Vampire Diaries" actress wore something that would have been really cute--if she'd been stumbling from her cabana to her hotel room at a seedy little Cabo San Lucas beach hotel, but for a Las Vegas red carpet? Not so much.

Best: Elise Neal - The actress was one of the few women on the red carpet who wasn't afraid to show both color and class in her choice of frock, wearing a shapely red gown with a cutaway lower back. Read More
