Luxury holiday activities in St. Lucia

In terms of luxury holiday destinations, St. Lucia is right up there with the best. Its tropical climate and breathtaking natural scenery make it the perfect holiday paradise and it attracts many visitors each year. If you’re planning a holiday to this luxurious location, you may want to spend a bit of time on one of its beautiful beaches, soaking up the sun and enjoying the sea air…and I certainly don’t blame you! But there is also a lot more to this perfect place, and below is a short list of some of the things you could get up to whilst you’re there.

As aforementioned, St. Lucia is a place of breathtaking scenery and beauty. It makes sense, then, that there are a lot of ways to explore this beauty for yourself. You could, for example, enjoy a guided tour on horse-back, by cycling, or with a forest trek. You can even arrange a scenic helicopter tour of the island, where you will be able to see beaches, the coast, and the large and impressive homes of the island, all the while being informed with historical facts and interesting information about the island’s grand houses.

Another popular activity in St. Lucia in swimming in one of the island’s stunning waterfalls. The Pitons Falls and Sault Falls are two good examples- amongst a great myriad of many others! This is a great way of experiencing the island, and certainly beats a day by the pool. And if you are interested in water-sports based activities, St. Lucia has plenty to offer. Scuba diving, snorkelling and sailing are all popular activities, and there are also sunset cruises, so you can enjoy a tropical drink, tasty snacks and a beautiful view after a hard day in the water.

As well as seeing nature’s true beauty in the form of St. Lucia’s waterfalls, the island boasts a ‘drive-in’ volcano. You of course, cannot actually drive into the volcano, but you can certainly get pretty close. Do not fear, its still safe; there are railings so that you can only go to a certain point, but you still get to see a wonderful natural phenomenon. This is definitely something not to be missed.

And during a luxurious holiday in St. Lucia, it is likely that you will want to enjoy some fabulous cuisine. Camilla’s Restaurant and Bar sells nice local food including chicken curry and fresh fish dishes, and for something ‘fancy’, the Green Parrott has views of Castries Harbour, and is home to a chef with training from top London restaurants including Claridges. With exquisite Caribbean cuisine in an intriguing English colonial and Victorian atmosphere, this is just one of the great restaurant experiences to take advantage of in St. Lucia.

Another important thing to consider on a holiday to St. Lucia is where you will stay. Whilst there are some great hotels on the island, self catered holiday lettings offer a real sense of independence and opulence, with luxury villas, houses, and apartments on offer.

So there is just a short list of some of the things you can do on a luxury holiday in St. Lucia. It truly is a location with a great deal to offer. Get planning your St. Lucia getaway!
