Natalie Portman and the Mystery Designer Wedding Gown

After two years movie star Natalie Portman and her ballet choreographer beau Benjamin Millepied officially tied the knot this weekend. Portman, notoriously very secret about her private life has released very few details about the wedding. It was reportedly at Big Sur in northern California at a private residence and was a traditional Jewish ceremony.

But the question fashionistas everyone wants to know is – who designed Portman’s gown? The dress of course, the most important detail in any wedding. Rumors have pointed to two designers specifically: Dior and Rodarte. Dior is a strong possibility because Portman is an official representative of the luxury brand, however she also has very close ties to Rodarte, who designed her Oscar gown and costumes in The Black Swan.

Pictures have yet to be released of the big day but more information and details about the designer wedding dress in question have been leaked. According to source, Grazia Daily they have pictures of the wedding they’re forbidden to print. While legality and journalistic ethics prevent the source from releasing images, the designer gown is reportedly described as “a classic white frock in a ’50s stylee, full-skirted with a nipped in waist and a midi hemline.” All elements sound like a timeless and gorgeous gown but also indicate who the mystery designer may be. These dress descriptions, if accurate, are all techniques and styles incorporated by Dior in recent lines. And after some digging, it looks like there are actually two dresses that can fit the description, modeled in the Dior couture show. So Portman’s gown appears to be from the Dior line; but we can only anxiously wait and see the actual designer wedding dress he wore on her big day.
