New Balance Celebrates Earth Day with New Environmentally Friendly Shoes

To celebrate Earth Day, New Balance has expanded its line to include the newSKY 01 and newSKY 101 shoes. The brand launched the newSKY line of footwear for men and women last October for those looking to maximize their style while minimizing their environmental impact.

ThenewSKY 01is an updated version of the original style featuring a minimalist design that allows New Balance to use less material than you’d find in the traditional athletic shoe. This shoe hasan upper made from 95 percent recycled P.E.T. plastic bottles (yes, recycled water and soda bottles!) The newSKY 01 has a retail price of $89.99.

The latest edition to the newSKY collection is thenewSKY 101. Similar to the original shoe, this minimalist design also contains less material than your traditional athletic shoe. It features a reinvented upper with an inner lining and knit mesh composed of 95 percent recycled PET plastic. Thisfashion-forward lightweight lace-up sneaker is available for$69.99.
